The POWERplex in St. Louis is looking for a part-time Manager on Duty in our Training Centers. We are currently seeking sports operations associates (part-time position, 10-30 hours/week) at our new athletic facilities in Hazelwood, MO. This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service, representing the POWERplex in a positive light, and ensuring the operational, day-to-day side of our facility runs efficiently.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the facility, including opening/closing duties, ensuring the smooth running of programs, practices & games
- Provide high-level customer service and build rapport and lasting relationships with prospective and current players, teams, parents and club directors
- Maintain facility cleanliness
- Provide administration and clerical backup for the sports operations team on program scheduling and maintenance of databases when needed
- Deal with all inquiries/bookings effectively and efficiently which will include the use of computerized systems, including taking payments at the facility and over the phone
- Maintain knowledge of all POWERplex programs and sports users
- Maintain a positive attitude, take initiative, and work as a cohesive team with all POWERplex staff members to ensure efficiency and camaraderie
- Maintain the POWERplex appearance, atmosphere, and culture
- The position entails working a flexible shift pattern to provide staff coverage during all operational hours. Shifts are required to take place on weeknights and weekends

Qualifications and Skills
- Passionate and knowledgeable about sports and the sports industry
- Must be assertive, enthusiastic, energetic, and punctual
- Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing to initiate tasks and perform duties without direction
- Strong communications skills required: need to build a good rapport with customers, team captains
- Ability to prevent and resolve conflict, to deliver a high level of customer service, and multitask
- Experience with POS and cash handling preferred
- Working toward or have received a degree in Sports Management or a similar major
- Mastering Microsoft Office software
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and to work on your feet for extended periods of time
